Everything is riding on your tires and yet many people forget to pay close enough attention to these auxiliary items.
When you are pulling a trailer, whether you bought it from Trailer Boss or another location, you need to make sure the tires are cared for properly or you may be looking for another trailer.
Keep a pressure gauge in your truck for a quick check if for some reason you don’t think the tires look right. You can come in to one of the three Trailer Boss locations to talk with a qualified technician who can tell you exactly what your tire pressure should be. Normally the air pressure is on the sidewall of the tire.
Normally you can expect tire pressures to coordinate with the load capacity of your tires.
C-range tires approximately 1,000 pounds to 2,500 pounds require a PSI of 50.
D-range tires approximately 1,800 to 3,000 pounds require a maximum PSI of 65
E-range tires approximately 2,800 to 3,5000 pounds should be at PSI to deal with the increased capacity.
If you look at the tires and see baldness on the outer edges of the tires they are probably under inflated.
If you look at the tires and see in the center of your tires then they are over inflated.
Tires on trailers carry increase pads normally, because of this they can actually be worn out while still appearing to have plenty of tread.
