When you buy a dump trailer in Portland, Oregon or in Seattle, WA you will want to know the volume. Trailer Boss associates are here to help explain everything you will need to know about your new trailer. But we will explain a bit of how the volume is measure.
The volume of a dump trailers is measured in cubic yards. The space enclosed by the bed and the walls of dump trailers is the space which represents the volume.
Calculating the volume is much like the geometry problem given by teachers in a high school class. You need to know the length, width, and height of the trailers. When the side walls are not as tall as the front and rear walls, you should calculate the height using the shortest wall.
After you have the measurements
Multiply the length times the width times the height to calculate the volume of the dump trailer. If a measurement is in inches, you can convert it to yards by dividing by 36. For example, 18 inches would be 0.5 yards.
Today we would like to feature a great dump trailer. This is a new Doolittle Trailer.
